Is There Life Beyond Earth? - A Virtual Program Presented by Mark Guillette
Tuesday, July 28, 2020 6:30 - 7:30 pm
Hear about NASA’s search for life beyond Earth. There are so many questions! Are we alone in the universe? If not, what does that mean for us? Where are the optimal places to search for current or past life in the universe? If life is found, will it be microbial or little green men with antennas? Hear about SETI, the GAVRT Project, the Mars Endurance rover, the Europa Clipper, and other organizations and missions looking for current and past life in the cosmos.
To attend the event:
Go to www.youtube.com/mjguillette five minutes before the start time and look for the live event. Q and A will be available throughout each of the presentations. Presentations will be archived on Dr. Guillette’s YouTube Channel, normally within 24 hours of completion, so if you can't make the live event, you can always go back and view it at a later time.
For more information about Dr. Guillette, visit his NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador bio page at: https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/ambassadors/1885/
SOUTH ENTRANCE RECONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY!
We are renovating our south entrance this spring and summer, thanks to the generosity of Michael and Lisa Cudahy. The area will be converted into a beautiful Irish cottage garden, complete with a statue of our city's founder, Patrick Cudahy, as a young boy sitting with his Grandpa Shaw. We are excited and grateful! Follow the progress of the project by clicking here.
Now available: remote printing! See our Digital Services page for more information.
Fine Free @ Cudahy Family Library
In order to improve access to our library and encourage lifelong learning for children and young adults, Cudahy Family Library will no longer be assessing overdue fines on Cudahy Family Library Children's and Young Adult materials beginning February 14, 2020.
Cudahy Family Library announces a partnership with Driving-Tests.org, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offer free Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) practice tests to library patrons. The new service includes free tests specifically based on the state’s DMV materials. It is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that let users hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask portions of the screen for greater visibility on the practice tests.
