Adult Summer Reading Club

June 1 - August 31, 2019
Dive into our adult summer reading program! Pick up a reading log and keep track of all of the books that you read or listen to between June 1 and August 31, 2019, then turn in your logs for a chance to win some terrific prizes!

Milwaukee Public Museum On the Move: All Things Space

Join MPM as we investigate our corner of space and beyond!  Participants will get a chance to build their own scale model of the solar system.  Limited to 30 participants in Grades 1-5.

Civil War Day
Saturday, July 6, 2019, 12:00-4:00 pm
Join us for a day of Civil War-themed activities and entertainment for all ages!  All events take place outside, in our beautiful Ladish Foundation Plaza -- don't forget your sunscreen and lawn chairs

  • Patriotic music concert by the 1st Brigade Band, starting at 1:00 pm. The band plays period brass band music, performed on antique instruments, while attired in Civil War-era uniforms and gowns. 
  • Musket Firing Demonstration, by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War
  • Children's Games and Activities, presented by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War
  • Military History Mini-Book Sale, offered by Friends of Cudahy Library


Milwaukee Public Museum On the Move: Mummies Mania

Explore the mysteries of mummies as we learn how and why Ancient Egyptians mummified their dead.  Participants will have a chance to help in the mummification process of a life size model.  Limited to 30 participants in Grades 1-5.

Local vendors and crafters, food to purchase, and music by Milwaukee's favorite polka group, the Bryan O'Donnell Band, will be featured in our lovely outdoor Ladish Foundation Plaza. The South Shore Christmas Parade Committee will be on hand to feed you a tasty lunch, featuring Polish sausage. Yum!  Come spend time with your community, grab a bite to eat, do some shopping, and enjoy the show. Rain or shine, this show will go on!

Would you like to be a vendor at this event? We still have spaces available for crafters and vendors - one vendor per product - just $10 for a 10x10' space if you bring your own table. Please submit an application and join the fun!

Cudahy Family Library announces a partnership with, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offer free Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) practice tests to library patrons. The new service includes free tests specifically based on the state’s DMV materials. It is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that let users hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask portions of the screen for greater visibility on the practice tests.
