Mary Todd Lincoln: Preserve the Union, portrayed by Jessica Michna

Mary recalls her early years and education in Lexington, Kentucky. She tells of her move to Springfield, Illinois, where she would meet and marry the young prairie lawyer. Mary introduces the audience to life in Washington, regaling her listeners with stories about her boys, including her biggest boy Mr. Lincoln. In this time of national strife, the Lincolns would suffer personal tragedies, concluding on that fateful day in April of 1865.

AARP Income Tax Assistance - offering free tax preparation

Volunteers from AARP will be on hand to help you e-file your income taxes. Tax preparation is free and is not restricted by age, income, or AARP membership. Appointments required; space is limited, so schedule early. Make appointments online at or beginning January 6, 2020, or in person during regular tax season hours.

Cudahy Family Library announces a partnership with, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offer free Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) practice tests to library patrons. The new service includes free tests specifically based on the state’s DMV materials. It is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that let users hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask portions of the screen for greater visibility on the practice tests.
